A farm shop right at the Hofgut in the east of Darmstadt. Much of the range comes from the farm's own produce: cheese from the farm's dairy, beef and veal from its own animals, eggs, seasonal vegetables and bread. This is supplemented by selected suppliers to make the big weekly shop possible.
What speaks for it
Demeter-certified — stricter than organic alone, with a focus on biodynamic farming. Many products come straight from the farm, so the origin is fully traceable. For families it's an experience: children see animals on the grounds and learn where food comes from. The farm café next door is also listed on klugundgrün.
What you should know
The farm shop is closed on Sundays. On fine weekends the grounds can get crowded. There is parking opposite the farm gate, with only a few spaces in the yard itself.
