Our assessment
Mostly sustainable
Sonett is one of the most uncompromising brands in the cleaning products market: consistently ecological, certified across the entire company, and completely free from petrochemicals. If you value maximum biodegradability and a genuinely sustainable company, Sonett is an excellent choice. Its products are widely available in organic food stores and natural health shops.
What we know
Sonett is a pioneer in ecological laundry detergents and cleaning products, based in Deggenhausertal, Baden-Württemberg, and has been active since 1977. All of its products carry the Belgian ECOGARANTIE certification, which, according to the German Consumer Initiative (Verbraucher Initiative), is one of the most demanding eco-labels for detergents and cleaning products. In addition, the entire company has been certified to the Certified Sustainable Economics (CSE) standard since 2015, which evaluates the sustainability of the company as a whole. The raw materials are fully biodegradable and free from petrochemicals, enzymes, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Some of the plant-based oils come from Demeter or certified organic farming. The essential oils are also “rhythmized,” an anthroposophically inspired production process.
