Is Pampers sustainable?

Our assessment

Not very convincing

Pampers takes some steps — OEKO-TEX for the Harmonie line, production in Germany. As a P&G group brand, however, supply-chain transparency remains limited, and the 2030 material targets have not yet been met. A clear gap remains compared with specialised diaper brands.

What we know

Pampers belongs to the Procter & Gamble group. The Harmonie line carries OEKO-TEX Standard 100, a harmful-substance test on the finished product, and the packaging pulp is FSC-certified. Production takes place partly in Germany, at the Euskirchen plant. There is no independent supply-chain transparency. The goal of sourcing half of its materials from sustainable sources by 2030 has not yet been met; P&G has announced carbon neutrality for the group by 2040.
