Naturkindergarten Eberstädter Streuobstwiesen e.V.
Last reviewed on June 2026 by Romain
Short description
The Nature Kindergarten run by the Freundeskreis Eberstädter Streuobstwiesen combines outdoor education with active nature conservation. Children spend their days in Darmstadt's traditional orchard landscape, experiencing ecology through everyday life.
Why we included this place
Many outdoor kindergartens spend their days in the forest. This one goes a step further. Children become part of a long-standing conservation project that protects the traditional orchard landscape of Eberstadt. They help care for sheep, observe wildlife and experience first-hand how meadows, fruit trees and grazing animals form a living ecosystem. Nature conservation is not taught as a topic—it is part of everyday life.
