Kindergruppe Lummerland e.V.

Kindergruppe Lummerland e.V. is a parent-run kindergarten in Darmstadt with just fifteen children. Its small group size and strong parental involvement create a close-knit environment where children receive individual attention and develop lasting relationships.

Rather than relying on large facilities, Lummerland focuses on community. The kindergarten describes itself as a "second home", where every child is known personally and supported by trusted educators. Although there is no private playground, the children spend much of their time exploring nearby playgrounds, the Herrngarten and surrounding woodland during regular outdoor days. Parents are actively involved as part of the initiative, from preparing organic meals to helping organise everyday life, creating a strong sense of shared responsibility.
