Our assessment

Mostly sustainable

Holle is one of the few baby food makers with a genuine Demeter share in its core range — one of the strictest farming standards in the world. If you don't want to compromise on baby food and prefer to buy biodynamic, this is a good fit.

What we know

Holle has been making organic baby food since 1933, headquartered in Switzerland. A large part of the range is Demeter-certified — a biodynamic standard that goes well beyond EU organic; for the rest of the range, EU organic is the minimum. Holle works with biodynamic farms across Europe. The range contains no palm oil and avoids added flavourings, colourants and preservatives. Production takes place in Lörrach and in Switzerland.
