Our assessment

Mostly sustainable

PlanToys has a genuine circular approach: rubber trees that have served their purpose become toys — no felling of fresh timber needed. The PlanWood concept avoids production waste entirely. For toys made in Asia, a well-thought-out sustainability concept with a solid certification base.

What we know

PlanToys is a Thai manufacturer, founded in 1981. The wood comes exclusively from its own rubber-tree plantations: trees that no longer produce latex are turned into toys instead of felling fresh timber. In the PlanWood process, wood dust from production is reprocessed with non-toxic binders into a composite material — a zero-waste approach. The plant runs on an ISO 14001 environmental management system and its own solar installation; the paints are water-based and free of harmful substances, and the packaging is made from recycled paper. The wood is FSC-certified.
