Fair Trade Certified – Fair conditions in textile factories: What this certification means
Category: Textiles / Clothing
What is verified
Certifies individual textile factories for fair working conditions: health protection, occupational safety, no child or forced labour, and compliance with minimum wages. For every unit produced, the brand pays a premium that flows into a Community Development Fund — whose use the factory workers decide themselves. Not to be confused with the Fairtrade label for food (different organisation, different criteria). Says nothing about ecological production conditions.
